Ingredient List
Water (Aqua)
Water is the base of our sheet mask formula, serving as the essential vehicle that helps dissolve and deliver key ingredients deep into the skin. Water also works in harmony with humectants to attract and lock in moisture leaving the skin deeply nourished and rejuvenated.
Allantoin
Allantoin is a soothing ingredient with anti-inflammatory properties that can help calm irritation, redness, and swelling. It enhances hydration and supports the skin barrier, making it ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Known for its gentle yet effective benefits, allantoin leaves the skin feeling soft, smooth, and nourished.
Glycerin
Glycerin is a naturally occurring humectant that helps to draw moisture into the skin, keeping it hydrated, plump, and healthy-looking. Its ability to maintain optimal moisture levels helps smooth the skin’s surface, reducing the appearance of fine lines and supporting a more youthful complexion. When combined with other nourishing ingredients, glycerin enhances hydration, protects against dryness, and plays a key role in anti-aging skincare.
Panthenol
Panthenol, also known as pro-vitamin B5, is a powerful humectant that attracts and retains moisture, keeping the skin soft and hydrated. It also has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to calm irritation and support the skin’s natural healing process. With its ability to strengthen the skin barrier, panthenol promotes a smoother, healthier, and more resilient complexion.
Sodium Hyaluronate
Sodium hyaluronate, the salt form of hyaluronic acid, is a powerful humectant that deeply hydrates and helps skin maintain moisture for a plump, youthful appearance. More easily absorbed than hyaluronic acid (higher bio-availability), it works to replenish and maintain the skin’s water balance, supporting both hydration and anti-aging benefits. Boasting soothing and microbiome-nourishing properties, sodium hyaluronate also helps strengthen the skin barrier while soothing and revitalizing the complexion.
Xanthan Gum
Xanthan gum is a natural thickening and stabilizing agent that helps improve the texture and consistency of skincare products. It ensures an even distribution of key ingredients, enhancing their effectiveness and absorption. Gentle and non-irritating, xanthan gum also helps maintain moisture, keeping the skin hydrated and smooth.
Hydroxyethylcellulose
Hydroxyethylcellulose is a plant-derived thickener and stabilizer that enhances the texture and consistency of skincare products. It helps evenly distribute active ingredients for better absorption while also improving hydration. Gentle and non-irritating, it ensures a smooth, lightweight feel on the skin.
Chlorphenesin
Chlorphenesin is a preservative commonly used in skincare products to prevent contamination and extend shelf life. It helps maintain the product's freshness by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and mold, while also preventing unwanted odors. Typically used in combination with other preservatives like phenoxyethanol and caprylyl glycol for enhanced stability, chlorphenesin ensures the product remains effective and safe for use.
Betaine
Betaine is a natural humectant that helps to hydrate and soothe the skin by maintaining moisture balance, while also improving skin elasticity and reducing irritation. Betaine also has anti-inflammatory properties which aid in reducing irritation. It can be found naturally in natural foods including beets, spinach, and wheat bran.
Phynoxyethanol
Phenoxyethanol is a widely used synthetic preservative, globally approved for use in cosmetic products at concentrations up to 1%. It effectively protects formulas from a broad range of pathogens and is compatible with many other ingredients across various pH levels. While considered gentle on skin, with rare incidents of sensitization, phenoxyethanol is essential for extending shelf life and maintaining the safety of both rinse-off and leave-on products. Though it has faced controversy, the cosmetics-grade phenoxyethanol used in skincare products is safe, well-researched, and purified to eliminate any harmful impurities. It’s important to note that while higher concentrations (such as 100%) of phenoxyethanol may be harmful, the 1% or less concentration used in cosmetics is safe and effective.
Trehalose
Trehalose is a naturally occurring sugar that helps to retain moisture in the skin and protect it from environmental stressors, promoting hydration and skin barrier function. It works in conjunction with other ingredients to further hydrate and nourish the skin.
Propylene Glycol
Propylene glycol is a widely used humectant in skincare that attracts and retains moisture, helping to keep the skin hydrated and smooth. It also serves as a solvent, enabling other active ingredients to dissolve and work effectively in the formula. Safe for cosmetic use, propylene glycol enhances product texture and contributes to the overall performance of skincare products. Propylene glycol has sometimes raised concerns due to its potential for skin sensitization. However, extensive studies by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Board have found that when used in the low concentrations found in cosmetics, it is safe and poses no health risk to consumers. In fact, it is used in a variety of personal care products with concentrations reaching up to 73% in leave-on formulas.
